California man arrested in Wadena as part of central Minnesota drug sweep

A California man was arrested in Wadena as part of a multi-state drug investigation. Guns, a large amount of methamphetamine and more than $150,000 in cash was seized in three raids.

The Central Minnesota Drug and Gang Task Force announced the arrests, which were part of an investigation that spanned several states and about a year and a half.

On Friday, March 4, Rosendo Navarro, 42, of Bell, Calif., was taken into custody as he left a residence in Wadena. Navarro allegedly had $50,000 and 306 grams of methamphetamine in a hidden compartment in his vehicle. Inside the home, investigators allegedly found marijuana and more than $40,000.

Agents also searched a residence in Wright County near Hasty, Minn., and found a SKS assault rifle; and a residence near Eagle Bend, Minn., and found $60,000, two handguns, two shotguns, three rifles and an SKS assault rifle.

The task force reported during the investigation, more than 2.6 pounds of methamphetamine and 14 firearms have been seized, along with the $150,000 in cash.

The task force was assisted by the St. Cloud Police Department Drug and Gant Unit, the Wadena Police Department, Wadena County Sheriff's Office, Wright County Sheriff's Office and the Todd County Sheriff's Office. The task force said more arrests are expected. It said the drug trafficking organization involved is responsible for the distribution of methamphetamine throughout central Minnesota.
