Two PR men face felony theft charges
Two Pelican Rapids men have been arrested and charged with felony theft, felony receipt of stolen property and other charges in connection to burglaries at Farmer's Elevator and Egge Construction.
Otter Tail County Sheriff's officers and the Pelican Rapids Police Department executed a warrant at 133 4-1/2 Ave. NW in Pelican Rapids on Aug. 24. Arrested at the scene were Lee Ross Arntson and Jason Lee Austin.
Property taken in a July 25 burglary to the Farmer's Elevator was recovered inside the residence. Video surveillance from the Farmer's Elevator burglary led to identification of Austin.
Investigators also found that on Aug. 21, Arntson and Austin were involved in a substantial copper wire theft at Egge Construction in Pelican Rapids. The wire was later recovered in Wadena.
Austin, as of Sept. 14, was being held in the Otter Tail County Detention Facility on charges of fifth degree controlled substance, felony receipt of stolen property, burglary and felony theft.
Arntson was being held on charges of fifth degree controlled substance, felony theft and felony receipt of stolen property.
Austin has also been charged with an additional burglary early in 2012.
