Perham High school Science Teacher Shawn Stafki, took a team of seven students to the 81st annual North Central  Regional State Science  and Engineering Fair in Minneapolis, April 8-10. The Perham Speech Team  is having its annual Speech expo Saturday, April 7 at Heart of the Lakes Elementary School. Breakfast and a silent auction begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by awards and speeches by the top three students. (submitted photo).

Placing first in their categories were: Alison Moenkedick (Drama), Andrew Jacobson (Discussion),
Brooke Germain (Poetry) and Olivia McNair (Creative Expression). Overall, the Perham Speech Team placed 2nd in Underwood for the Subsection 23A competition on Friday, March 23. Students at Heart of the Lakes Elementary School had a Beach Picnic Party for earning 3,887 pom-poms as a school. Kids had a picnic lunch with beach theme and fun music on Tuesday to celebrate positive behavior in the cafeteria.  It was an all school goal to earn 3,000.   It is part of the PBIS program.
