At the Perham-Dent School Board meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 13, the board approved a joint community education program with the Frazee-Vergas community education program.
The goal of partnering with Frazee-Vergas is to maintain what has been built here in Perham over the last two years, according to Superintendent Mitch Anderson. "I'm excited for the potential. We met with the business manager in Frazee and their community education director and feel we can sustain it and possibly grow it."
The board also approved initial funding to provide "satellite" office space for a student resource officer to provide a presence at the schools next year and be immediately available when needed. Anderson said the board will formally approve future funding on an annual basis.
