Drama will be presented by Yellowjacket actors for One-Act Play contest

Back row: Abby Kalina, Amber Kalina, Hannah Lorentz, Tanner Hofius, Tyler Schmitz, Breann Brambrink; Center: Karlee Omberg, Jamie Maxwell, Candace Rastedt, Elizabeth Maxwell, Amanda Collins; Front: Annalee Beaver.

The One-Act Play cast and crew are hard at work at Perham High School.

Students have been rehearsing the play since December, and will continue right up to the sub-section contest-which will be in Battle Lake on Jan. 30 this year. If the Perham troupe qualifies for section, it will be Feb. 6, and the state contest will be Feb. 11-12.

The story line of "A Little Princess" revolves around a child who, following the death of her father, magically transforms her boarding school room into a magical place of fantasy-or is it?

During the rehearsals, the students were honored to work with Harper Jones-Hermerding, a theater professional and son of the late Ert Jones Hermerding-who directed two community musicals in Perham. Ert died last summer. Lorentz said that Harper was a great help and an inspiration for the cast and crew of the One-Act Play.
