Tri-County fall class schedule

Tri-County Hospital's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department offers a variety of classes throughout October and November.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Full Course offered Wednesday and Thursday, October 6-7. October 6 the course is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday, October 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Heartsaver CPR and First Aid is offered Saturday, October 9 and Saturday, November 20. October 9: CPR is from 8 a.m. to noon and First Aid from noon to 2 p.m.; November 20: CPR is from 8 a.m. to noon and First Aid from noon to 2 p.m.

Healthcare Provider CPR Class is Thursday, November 11 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

ACLS is a protocol for handling patients who are experiencing serious medical emergencies.

Training includes advanced support care recognition and management, life support care, recognition and management of conditions including peri-arrest, cardiac arrest, life threatening clinical situations such as stroke, ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes. Completion of this two-day course earns an American Heart Association ACLS Provider Course Completion Card that is valid for two years. Cost is $275.

Heartsaver CPR & First Aid is for those who need or are interested in learning or becoming certified in CPR, First Aid or both. With the knowledge and skills learned in each class you can save a life. Skills taught are especially valuable for those in daycare or babysitting, firefighting, police, airline personnel, security guards, and those with family members at high risk for sudden cardiac emergencies. CPR class teaches how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking. First Aid teaches skills to effectively recognize and treat emergencies within the first critical moments until EMS personnel arrive. Skills are taught for victims of all ages. Completion of either course provides a two-year certification through the American Heart Association. Cost is $50 for CPR and $25 for First Aid.

Health Care Provider CPR classes are for health care providers needing certification. Skills are taught for victims of all ages. Upon completion of the four-hour course, you will be certified for two years through the American Heart Association. Cost is $50.
