New York Mills School, Judith Brockway enter verbal agreement
Friday morning, New York Mills School Superintendent Todd Cameron received a verbal agreement from Judith Brockway for the elementary school principal position.
The hire is not yet final. Cameron stated in an email that the contract was in the mail, waiting for a signature. Also, the school board will have to approve the hire at its May 21 meeting.
Brockway has a Masters of Education in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in reading and language arts from the University of Nevada. She is currently earning her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Winona State University.
Brockway has been at Chatfield Elementary School since 2004, where she is cur-rently working as a teacher on special assignment and curriculum coordinator.
In her position at Chat-field, Brockway aligns cur-riculum to the state standards, implements reading programs school-wide and implements school improvement plants. She also writes literacy plans, grants and teacher evaluation plans.
Brockway, along with two other applicants, was given a second interview during a school board meeting last week.
