Eagles march through D.C.
The New York Mills Marching Eagles were in Washington, D.C. this week representing Minnesota as they marched in the National Independence Day Parade. This parade attracts a street audience of hundreds of thousands of people and is televised on the East Coast. Three charter buses left NY Mills on July 1 with more than 100 band members and chaperones. After three days of packed schedules, including fireworks on the Capital lawn and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the band will return home on Friday, July 6, just in time to take part in Lund Mania festivities.
