Help a Perham student win a Chevy scholarship: Vote on Facebook

A Perham High School student is a top 10 finalist in the 2013 Chevy Scholarship Program.

Judges selected Jillian Burns, a senior, from a pool of applicants. Area high school juniors and seniors nominated themselves or were nominated by someone else for the chance to win a $5,000 scholarship or one of nine other $500 awards.

The winner of the $5,000 award will be chosen by the public, through an online vote. Votes may be cast once per day now through April 1 on Facebook, at www.facebook. com/certifiedheartlandchevydealers.

The winner will be announced on April 8.

The Certified Heartland Chevy Dealers, 20 Chevrolet dealers in the Fargo, N.D. area, have created this scholarship program to help deserving students accomplish their goals for higher education.

Submissions for the program ended March 11.

Other top 10 finalists include: Cassandra Longtin, Cavalier Public School; Thomas Runnels, Warroad High School; Isaac Loegering, Crookston High School; Josh Colemer, Concordia; Jessica Lancaster, Red River High School; Charlotte Rasmussen, Jamestown Senior High School; Derek Lehmann, Sargent Central Public School; Carly Bertsch, Ronald N. Davies High School; and Courtney Black, Bemidji High School.
