Starting a one-year term as county board chairman is Wayne Johnson of Pelican Rapids. Serving as vice chair for the next 12 months will be Roger Froemming of Parkers Prairie. The other three county board members are Doug Huebsch of Perham, Lee Rogness of Fergus Falls and John Lindquist of Dalton.

Otter Tail County is comprised of an area that’s larger than the state of Rhode Island. The county budget is close to $80 million on an annual basis. County taxpayers will contribute close to $34 million for county operations in 2014. The other portion will come from state and federal contributions as well as other sources.

The county is divided into five districts, with one commissioner from each district. Commissioners are elected to four-year terms. They oversee various departments that provide services to more than 57,000 residents in Otter Tail County.
