The East Otter Tail Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association recently made large donations to two local high schools in support of their Trap Leagues.

The Perham High School Trap League received $1,450, and the New York Mills High School Trap League received $1,700. Amounts were determined on a $50 per student participant basis.

The donations came out of the Bob Perszyk Memorial Fund set up by the East Otter Tail Chapter.

“Bob was a huge advocate of youth and trapshooting,” stated Chapter President Chad VanWatermulen.

“East Otter Tail Chapter wanted to show our support of local schools’ Trap Leagues,” VanWatermulen added. “We feel this is another great opportunity for youth to be introduced to outdoor sports and shooting in a safe and learning environment. It is great to see the local high schools support the youth in this type of activity, and it follows suit with what the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association is all about: youth, habitat, hunting, and legislation.”
