Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter's Annual Picnic set for June 25
The Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter's annual picnic will be held at the Glendalough State Park at the Trail Center on Sunday, June 25. Glendalough State Park is known for its varied habitats, from prairie grasslands, six lakes, and large hardwood forests. This means there are many types of birds that visit this park each year. Anyone of any age is invited to come and enjoy a meal and find birds during our bird outing after the picnic.
Everyone is asked to bring a dish to share, their own plate, silverware, and cups. Water, lemonade and pop will be provided. If you wish, you may bring your own non-alcoholic beverage. Participants will gather at noon, with lunch at 12:30 pm, and then head out for a bird outing at 1:30 pm. Each vehicle will need to have a Minnesota State Park year-round entry sticker or to buy a one day entry permit for $5 at the office.
Glendalough State Park is located near the town of Battle Lake. From Battle Lake, go 1.5 miles north on State Highway 78 and 1.8 miles east on Otter Tail County Highway 16 to the park entrance. The Trail Center Lodge is all the way into the center of the park at the end of the park's main road. After you cross a small bridge, you are almost there.
