3 in custody after hit-and-run crash kills pedestrian
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Three people were in custody Friday morning, Feb. 9, in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a 21-year-old Ponsford, man dead.
According to information released by Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander:
The sheriff's office was called at 7:29 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, regarding a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on Pow Wow Highway about a half mile east of Pine Point.
After lifesaving efforts, Joshua Charles Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
A suspect vehicle was later found in Pine Point, and three people were taken into custody.
Glander declined to release the identities of the three Friday morning, saying the investigation was continuing.
Glander said it is believed alcohol was a factor in the incident.
