Girls tennis falls at West Central Area

BARRETT — The Perham girls tennis team is still seeking their first match victory after suffering a 7-0 shutout loss at West Central Area Tuesday afternoon.

West Central dominated play taking all seven matches in straight sets. Gesa Muller lost her first set by one break of serve at No. 3 singles in a 4-6, 1-6 defeat to Taylor Endreson.

Perham had success at the junior varsity level where Brianna Schwantz and Makayla Melvin defeated Lilly Swanson and Lea Bergerweler 6-1 in a doubles set.

Madison Olson and Savanna Olson won their doubles exhibition set over Lilly Swanson and Lea Bergerweler 6-4.

In other area tennis Tuesday, Long Prairie/Grey Eagle defeated New York Mills 6-1 in Prairie Conference action.
