Gabriele Anderson ends 2013 Season at Fifth Avenue Mile

Minneapolis/St. Paul – Sept. 23, 2013 – It was a weekend of successful competitions on the East Coast for five Team USA Minnesota distance runners, with Jon Peterson and Andrew Carlsonfinishing fourth and sixth respectively at the Cow Harbor 10k, Meghan Peyton placing seventh at the USA 5k Championships, and Heather Kampf and Gabriele Anderson ending their 2013 seasons at the Fifth Avenue Mile.

In Northport, New York, on Sept. 21, Peterson posted 29:54 in the Cow Harbor 10k for fourth place and Carlson crossed the line in 30:26 to come in sixth.  Next up for both athletes will be either the TC 10 Mile or TC 10k race during Twin Cities Marathon weekend on Oct. 5-6.

Peyton traveled to Providence, Rhode Island, to compete in the USA 5k Championships hosted by the CVS Caremark 5k on Sept. 22.  She finished seventh with a time of 16:04 in a final tune-up race before she runs in the USA Marathon Championships hosted by the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on Oct. 6.

In New York City on the streets of Manhattan for the NYRR Fifth Avenue Mile on Sept. 22, Kampf finished eighth with a time of 4:27.8 and Anderson was 11th in 4:29.  The two have now completed their 2013 competitive seasons during which Kampf set personal bests on the track and on the roads in the 800 meters, 1500 meters and mile, and Anderson set personal bests in the 1500m and mile.
