The Lakers wrapped up the regular season Thursday falling to Northern Lakes 4-0.

Lightning freshman Hayden Boelter scored twice, the game-winner in the first and a shorthanded goal in the third period. She added an assist for a three-point game.

Sam Gutzman scored at even strength in the second period, followed by Caitlyn Gutzman on the power play.

The Lakers best chance at avoiding the shutout came early in the third period when an apparent goal was whistled no good by the referee after the puck was directed into the net with a gloved hand with 13:50 to play.

Shots were 32-24 Lakers. DL was 0-7 on the power play including two short stints of five-one-three in the third period.

Chaia Tulenchik got the shutout. Shannara Wheeler made 20 saves for DL.

The Lakers finish the regular season at 4-20-1 and 0-5-1 in the conference. Northern Lakes (18-6) leads the Mid-State Conference at 5-0 and faces 4-1 Prairie Centre Friday, Feb. 3 for sole possession of the conference crown.
