Perham to host benefit run for Grunewald's cancer fight

Perham's high school cross country teams will host a 1-mile benefit run for Gabriele Grunewald and her fight against cancer on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 9 a.m. at Arvig Park in Perham.

Grunewald is a professional runner, who was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma in 2009, during her running career at the University of Minnesota. Cancer has come back three times since. The 2004 Perham graduate had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her liver on Aug. 26, 2016.

Anyone is invited to the #BraveLikeGabe Benefit Run on Saturday, and any donation is accepted.
