PHS Softball: Perham and D.L. split

Mallory Malikowski pitched a one-hitter in Perham's 1-0 win in game 2 of a doubleheader with Detroit Lakes Friday.

A one-hitter by Mallory Malikowski helped Perham to a split with Detroit Lakes Friday. After D.L. won the first game, 14-4, the Jackets needed Malikowski's one-hitter in game two as they won, 1-0.

Malikowski struck outeight in the first game, but the Jacket defense committed eight errors in the field behind her.

Perham trailed 9-0 when they scored four runs in the fifth inning. Natalie Wierbos and Malikowski had RBI hits before a two-run homer by Tara Sailer.

The lone run in game two came in the fifth when Kristina Januszewski tripled and scored on a wild pitch. Detroit Lakes lone hit came in the sixth inning. Malikowski had seven strike outs and one walk in the win.
