The Perham Post 4020 VFW baseball team continued its trend of splitting doubleheaders on Monday at Krueger Field. The Stingers dropped the first game against Fergus Falls, 3-1. But they came back to take game two, 6-3.

T.J. Studer scattered five hits and allowed just one earned run in game one, but his defense let him down, committing three errors.

Studer also had two of Perham's six hits. Desmine Duffy scored the team's lone run in the sixth on a wild pitch in the 3-1 loss.

In game two, Perham trailed 1-0 in the fourth when Jack Januszewski connected for a grand slam. Post 4020 scored two more insurance runs in the sixth for the 6-3 win.

David Altstadt pitched a complete game for the win on the mound. He allowed just four hits and one earned run.

Januszewski went 2-for-3 to lead the Stinger offense. Duffy was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and Alex DeConcini was 1-for-2.

The Stingers (5-4) have a doubleheader in East Grand Forks on June 24. They will follow that with a trip on June 29-30 for the St. Cloud Tournament. They play at Bemidji on July 2 before finally returning home on July 7 against Detroit Lakes.

Post 4020 has split all four doubleheaders they have played this season. Last Tuesday, they beat Moorhead, 7-0 in game one of a twin-bill, but the second game was rained out.
