Taylor Doll pitched a complete game in the second game of a doubleheader sweep for Perham over Thief River Falls last week.

The Perham Buzz improved to 8-3 this summer with a doubleheader sweep over Thief River Falls last Thursday.

In game one, Shawn Stafki struggled on the mound in his start for the Buzz, allowing five runs and eight hits over 4 1/3 innings. His offense kept Post 61 in the game though, as they scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to go ahead, 6-5.

The Buzz then put up an 8-spot in the bottom of the sixth to win by the 10-run rule, 15-5.

Tyler Lynne allowed just two hits in his 1 2/3 innings of relief to pick up the win. He also had a huge game at the plate, hitting two home runs, a three-run shot in the first inning and a grand slam in the sixth. He finished the game 2-for-4 with three runs and seven RBI. Gavin Biegler also added three hits in the win.

In game two, Taylor Doll went the distance for the Perham, allowing just one run on four hits over his seven innings of work as the home team completed the sweep with a 10-1 win.

The Buzz keep the hot bats alive, pounding out 16 hits in the win. Ben Brill had a big game, collecting four hits and four RBI, including a two-run home run in the fourth. Andrew Muer also added four hits with a pair of doubles.

The Buzz made up a pair of games at Fergus Falls on June 29. EOT Illustrated went to press before scores were reported.

Post 61 returns to action today (July 2) when they host Fergus Falls at Krueger Field. The first game of their final home doubleheader starts at 5 p.m.

Perham will travel to Bemidji for a pair of games on July 6 before heading east for two games at Grand Rapids on July 7.
