PHS Volleyball: Perham gets 1st HOL win at U-H

The Yellowjacket volleyball team opened play in the Heart O' Lakes Conference Thursday night at Ulen-Hitterdal. Perham was impressive in opening it's defense of the HOL crown with a 3-0 road win (25-10, 25-15, 25-17).

"A match of two young teams gave us an opportunity to expand our offense and work in some new serve receive and free ball plays," head coach Dan Christenson said.

Perham's offense got a big lift from the service line, where the collected 15 aces as a team, led by Becky Stoll with five.

Katrina Moenkedick finished with eight kills, six assists and three aces. Elisa Moenkedick added four kills, three blocks and three aces. Mary Guck led the team with 11 set assists to go with three aces.

Perham's next match will be at home Tuesday, Sept. 15 against Moorhead.
