PHS Tennis: Jackets fall to Osakis

The Yellowjacket girls tennis team struggled in their return home Thursday in a 7-0 loss to Osakis. It was Perham's first home match since Aug. 27.

The No. 1 doubles team of Emily Wurgler and Whitney Delaney pushed their opponents to a tiebreak in the first set before falling 7-6 (7-5). They lost set two, 6-3.

Hannah Brenk played well in a loss at No. 3 singles, 6-4, -4.

Perham will take part in the Moose Invitational in Brainerd this Saturday. Teams expected to participate include: the Jackets, Brainerd, Glencoe-Silver Lake, Roseau, New York Mills and Parkers Prairie.

The Lady Jackets will make a pair of trips to Park Rapids this week. They take on the Panthers in a dual match on Sept. 15. On Sept. 19, Park Rapids hosts the Mid-State Tournament.

Perham will return home on Sept. 22 for a dual match against Pequot Lakes.
