Believing that the best way to secure our hunting heritage starts at the grassroots, MDHA encourages its chapters to think globally but act locally.

These chapter have set and achieved ambitious goals for contributions toward hunter recruitment and education through assisting in sending local youth to MDHA Forkhorn Youth Summer Camps (for hunter education), sponsoring youth hunter education days, firearms safety classes, the National Archery in the Schools program for local schools and many more local youth programs.

Through programs such as the MDHA Hides for Habitat deer hide recycling program and banquet fundraising, these chapters have been able to make local habitat improvements, contributed to land acquisitions of new wildlife management areas, as well as provided valuable conservation plantings in your region.

In recognition of MDHA's Hunting Heritage Legacy Award each chapter will receive a MDHA merchandise certificate or a firearm to be raffled at their local banquet honoring the MDHA volunteers as well as the attending members.

If you would like to attend a banquet in your area to support the hunting and conservation efforts in your community, contact the MDHA State Office or visit to locate a chapter nearest you.
