NYM Volleyball: No. 9-AA W-DC takes down Eagles

New York Mlls found out why Wadena-Deer Creek is ranked No. 9 in Class AA Tuesday night. The Eagles improved as the night went on, but W-DC came out on top, 3-0 (25-6, 25-11, 25-17).

Sophomore Taylor Geiser, who replaced Hannah Rutten in the line-up, finished with three kills, five blocks and eight digs. Boe and Megan Cole each had two kills. Boe, Helmeke, Rud and Nicole Nebosis each had four blocks at the net.

Regular season ending

Third place New York Mills will try to climb the Park Region Conference ladder tonight (Oct. 1) as they travel to Sebeka to face the second place Trojans. Sebeka has won the last two meetings, including a 3-1 win in NY Mills last year.

On Oct. 6, the Lady Eagles will have their fourth meeting of the season with Verndale at the Sports Center. The Pirates have a 2-1 edge so far this season. Mills went 2-1 against Verndale last year.

The final home match of the regular season will be against Pillager on Oct. 8.
