Get to Know'em: (Steph Miller (Jr., 08-09 HOL All-Conference, Most Steals), Katrina Moenkedick (Soph., 08-09 All-Conference), Kaylan Huber (Jr.), Holly Karkela (Jr.), Jessica Dreier (Jr.), Lauren Guck (Jr.), Kelli Meehl (Jr.), Ashley Lehman (Jr.), Becky Stoll (Jr.).

Strengths: New coach John Gullingsrud will bring an uptempo style, using athletic and quick guards, but also possess good inside post play in the half court. Fans can expect to see pressure defense, both full court and half court, and will see an aggressive team on both ends of the floor. With returning players like the Moenkedick sisters, Miller and Huber, the Jackets will have a good mix of experience and good upcoming junior class.

Season Outlook: The HOL will be very competitive this year with West Central Area, Hawley, D-G-F and Pelican Rapids returning solid teams.

Defending 8AA champ East Grand Forks will be solid again this year along with Wadena-Deer Creek, D-G-F, Hawley and Pelican Rapids in the West Sub-Section. In the East, Pequot Lakes and Crosby-Ironton will be challenged by Roseau and Pine River-Backus.

Coaches Quote: "The key to our season will be how well the rest of our team responds to playing increased roles at the varsity level. Our conference and section are much deeper than in past years, so we will have to play good basketball every night if we expect to build on the success from the past couple of seasons. I am very excited to see if our team is up to this challenge." John Gullingsrud
