PHS Girls Basketball: Faster pace helps Perham to win over Barnesville

John George

After three straight on the road, the Lady Jackets began a four-game home stand with a 79-72 win over Barnesville Thursday night.

"It was nice to get a little faster pace to the game tonight and score a few points," head coach John Gullingsrud said.

Elisa Moenkedick led all scorers with 22 points to go with nine points and three assists. Katrina Moenkedick added 16 points, five boards and four assists.

Perham has now won six in a row over the Trojans, including a 76-51 win on Jan. 5.

On Feb. 12, Perham will make-up their snowed out game against New York Mills.

The Jackets have won five in a row over Mills. The Eagles last win in the series was a 44-40 overtime victory in December, 2003.

The final home conference game will be Feb. 16 against West Central Area. WCA gave the Lady Jackets a scare on Jan. 8, but Perham prevailed, 72-68, for their fourth straight win over the Knights.
