Eagles drop two to Bertha-Hewitt

The NY Mills softball team ran into a streaking Bertha-Hewitt club Thursday, dropping two games 11-3 and 12-2.

The Bears are winners of seven straight and stand undefeated, atop the Park Region conference standings tied with Ottertail Central.

Game one was tied at one run apiece heading into the fifth inning before the Bears broke out scoring 10 runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

The nightcap saw the Eagles fall behind early 6-0 before scoring twice in the sixth. The Bears would add another half-dozen runs in the final two frames.

Jenna Esala reached base safely in all three of her attempts in game two with two singles, a double and one run batted in. Kendra McCall had two singles in three attempts at the plate.

The Eagles road trip does not get easier as they travel to undefeated Ottertail Central Tuesday, April 27
