Dent Wildcats' Pitcher Matt Richter shot off some fireworks of his own in the ninth inning belting a three-run shot over the fence to cap a late-inning come-from-behind 5-2 Wildcats win over the Perham Pirates.

The loss drops the Pirates record to 4-9.

Richter was in a battle with Pirates' starter Tyler Doll for seven innings. Both teams pecked away at runs.

The Pirates scored one in the first. Brad Ellingson's fielder's choice scored Ryan Enger, who had reached on an error. The other Pirates run came in the third.

Doll led off with a single. Gavin Beigler singled to put runners on second and third after a past ball. Anthony Ruther's base hit scored Doll. Beigler and Ruther were left on the bags when Richter got Josh Hendrickx to fly out to short.

Doll kept the Wildcats off the board for six strong innings. No Wildcats touched third base. An Eric Weller single followed by a Ben Warne double started the scoring for Dent in the top of seven.

Richter would tie the game at two in the eighth on an Andy Kratzke base hit.

Troy Schrupp and Warne reached base to start the ninth. Schrupp was forced at third on a comebacker to the mound off the bat of pinch hitter Mac Stoll.

With Warne at second and Stoll at first, Richter came to bat and as he connected with the ball there was no doubt it was sailing over the fence into the ether of a balmy evening.

The Pirates loaded the bags in the bottom half looking for a walk-off win. Doll and Ellingson reached on singles. Ruther walked to fill the bases with one away. Reliever Brock Collins got Hendricks to bounce into a 4-6-3 double play to end the threat and get the save.

Doll pitched a complete game throwing 124 pitches in the loss. He also made an amazing barehanded stab on a Schrupp bouncer to the right side of the mound in the fifth. He was a one-man wrecking crew in the fifth inning making two assists to first and striking out Tyler Soderstrom to retire the side in order.

The Pirates outhit the Wildcats 11-7.
