Perham finishes third in Challenge Cup
Perham high school finished third out of 310 schools in the Minnesota State High School League Class A Challenge Cup.
The Challenge Cup is a statewide, yearlong competition among League member schools. Points are awarded to schools based on their success in post-season tournament play. The two schools -- one Class A school and one Class AA school -- that earn the most points at the end of the year are awarded a crystal Challenge Cup. The program began in 2003.
Of the 411 Perham Challenge Cup points scored, Cross Country, Track and Gymnastics dominated the standings due to state championships and places. The three sports combined for 114, 141 and 67 points respectively, for 322 of the 411 total.
Points were also gained in golf, speech, wrestling and swimming and diving.
