NY Mills tennis winds up regular season play

Teammate Lauren Bach awaits the return of Missy Hendrickx in their 6-1, 6-4 number one doubles victory over Tess Hamre and Brianna Seebold of Detroit Lakes.

The New York Mills tennis team wound up regular season play at home in a 5-2 loss to Detroit Lakes.

The Eagles got wins from Lauren Bach and Missy Hendricks in one-singles. The pair defeated Tess Hamre and Brianna Seebold one and four.

Jen Maki and Krista Guldseth took their number two doubles match one and one over DL's India Fritz and Emily Seebold.

"Our first two doubles teams played very well in picking up our team points," said Head Coach Gary Bach. "And all our players gave us a strong effort, despite the outcomes shown in the scores."

The Lakers would sweep the singles matches and three-doubles for the meet victory. All the Laker singles players won handily, in straight sets.

Joelle Langworthy, Katie Anderson, Laurenn Johnson and Shantel Kluenenberg were each victorious.

DL's third doubles team of Whitney Benscoter and Kira Leichter also won their match against Jordin Robers and Megan Dow, 6-0, 6-1.

With the regular season finished, NY Mills will move on to focusing on Section Tournament play in Grand Forks. The Lady Eagles finished with a 4-10 regular season record.
