Green Wave sink Yellowjackets 28-14

The Yellowjackets and East Grand Forks played to a 14-all stalemate at halftime, but two third quarter Green Wave touchdowns ended regular season play for Perham with a 28-14 loss.

Jordan Hein hit Chris Ruther from seven yards out and Eric Brauch from 24 yards for the two Perham scores. Both Jesse Hein extra point kicks were good.

Turnovers and missed tackles played a major role in the final score.

"Those are areas we can fix by focusing more," said Head Coach Mike Jordahl.

Jordon Hein was picked off five times. The Jackets also put the ball on the ground three times losing two fumbles.

Both third quarter EGF touchdowns came off interceptions made in Yellowjacket territory.

Hein threw for 188 yards on 19 completions. He also led Perham in rushing with 36 yards on 11 attempts.

Desmine Duffy had six grabs for 18 yards. Mike Wiskow nabbed four balls for 48 yards.

The loss drops Perham's record to 2-6 in regular season play and they enter the playoffs as the #6 seed. They will face Thief River Falls, the #3 seed, at Thief River Falls.

A victory would force a second round match against the winner of #2 Crookston and #7 Roseau. A Roseau upset would give the Jackets a home game in the second round.
