Perham cross-country awards

Head Coach Jeff Morris handed out end of season awards to both the state champion boys cross-country team and the girls team, which finished 12th in state this year.

Boys co-most valuable runners: Keith Schornack and Klaus Weber.

Girls most valuable runner: Cassie Beseman.

Boys most improved: Brady Speicher.

Girls most improved: Kellyn Barney.

Girls coaches award: Tanya Berns.

 Boys coaches award: Mark Huebsch.

Boys Yellowjacket award - $250 scholarship: Klaus Weber.

Girls Yellowjacket award - $250 scholarship: Jessica Dreier.

The boys state championship was the third in school history. It was the first since back-to-back championships in 2006 and 2007.

The title also continued a streak for the boys team of finishing in the top two spots in state in seven of the past eight years.

The girls state finish is the tenth time the Yellowjackets have placed in state since 1999.
