Kelsey Kratzke 24th at state swim

Kelsey Kratzke, the lone Yellowjacket at the Class A State Swimming and Diving Championships, finished 24th in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:11.94. 

The fastest 16 swimmers advanced out of the preliminary round.

Kratzke finished in 18th place last year and 22nd the prior season.

Two regional swimmers won state championships.

Heidi Busack, of Fergus Falls, set a new state record winning the 100 freestyle in a time of 50.56.

Melissa Paakh, of Detroit Lakes, won the 100 butterfly state championship.
