The New York Mills Eagles boys basketball team (18-7) saw their season come to an end at Ulen-Hitterdal (18-9), 59-56, in Section 6A action.

The Eagles led by as much as 12 early in the first half, but six 3-pointers from Spartan sophomore Landon Schultz and a big game from junior forward Troy Peterson led the Spartans to a big second half comeback.

The Eagles led by four at the break, 32-28, but Peterson scored and drew a foul early in the second frame. His free throw gave Ulen-Hitterdal the lead for good.

The Spartans would never lead by more than four down the stretch. NY Mills closed to within a point multiple times.

With the clock under 30 seconds, Isaiah Bauck was called for traveling on a possession that could have seen the Eagles take the lead. Schultz struggled to ice the game from the free throw line allowing the Eagles a last gasp with under ten ticks remaining.

The ball ended up in the hands of Tanner Wegscheid, after a Bryce Pazdernik miss from three. Wegscheid fired a tying shot as the buzzer sounded. The ball entered the cylinder and rimmed out.
