Golf courses set to open

Dust off that driver and brace for the early season slice. Golf courses across Minnesota are in the process of opening.

Locally, Lakeside Golf Club, in Perham, will open the driving range Thurs., April 14 and the golf course Fri., April 15.

Adult golf lessons will begin on Wed., May 4 at Perham Lakeside Golf Club.

Lessons will be taught by PGA instructor Nick Anderson and run for four consecutive Wednesdays. Price is $50 and is open to beginners and intermediate adults. Please call Nick at 218-346-6070 to register.

Perham Lakeside Golf Club is now taking registration for Junior Golf Lessons this summer.

Lessons are open to boys and girls ages 5-15 and will be held Friday mornings starting Fri., June 10 and run for six weeks.

The cost is $60 per person and includes weekly instruction, a t-shirt, tournament and prizes.

Registration will take place by stopping by the Perham Lakeside pro shop or by calling 218-346-6070. Instructors include Perham Lakeside PGA professional Nick Anderson and Perham Girl's Golf Coach Cory Solberg and Jason Smith.

Balmoral Golf Course is scheduled to open all 18 holes on Fri., April 15. The pro shop can be reached by calling 218-864-5414.

Thumper Pond is a maybe for this weekend depending on the weather. The course will be open next week. Call the pro shop at 218-367-6501 to verify course status.
