Eagles bounce back on the road
The New York Mills Eagles baseball team upped its record to 5-2 and a perfect 2-0 on the road defeating the Arrows in Ashby 9-2.
Three runs, scored by leadoff hitter Shane Novak, Tanner Wegscheid and Tristan Huwe, in the first inning were enough for victory.
Tyler Patron went six strong innings, faced 22 batters walking only one and striking out 10. Both runs given up were earned.
Patron retired the side in order in the first, third and fifth innings.
Adam Snelgrove pitched the seventh to cement the win for Patron. Snelgrove gave up a walk and allowed a single to put runners on the corners before striking out the bottom of the order to end the game.
Derek Gaudette went 2-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Six Eagles knocked in runs.
The Eagles outhit the Arrows 9-3.
