Volleyball: Yellowjackets sweep Patriots

Miranda Lockhart put on a show at the net marking Head Coach Dan Christenson's 200th career victory with a dozen kills and eight blocks.

Perham defeated Pequot lakes 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-22).

"A career night for Lockhart," Christenson said. "She had been sick this week and missed both Monday and Wednesday practices so I held her out to start the match. When she got the opportunity to hit the floor, she made the most of it."

The night was also a career milestone for Christenson, who recorded his 200th win as Perham's head coach.

Lexy Karvonen was second on the team with nine kills. Katrina Moenkedick had seven.

"On a night that our other big hitters weren't connecting, Miranda and Lexy came up big."

Next action for Perham is this Saturday, Oct. 8 at the 16-team Perham Invitational.

Perham's first round match will be against Melrose at the PWMS - 8:30 a.m.

Placing matches should start around 4:30 p.m.
