Section 8AA volleyball playoff match-ups

As expected, the Perham Yellowjackets are the #3 seed in Section 8AA volleyball playoffs. They will host #6 seed Pelican Rapids Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at Prairie Wind Middle School.

The two teams met in Perham Oct. 11. Perham prevailed 3-0, (25-12, 25-23, 25-18). Miranda Lockhart and Katrina Moenkedick had 11 kills to lead the Yellowjackets. Brooke Mickelson added 10.

Perham finished regular season play 4-2 in the Heart O' Lakes Conference and 12-14 overall. Pelican Rapids was 2-4 in the conference and 11-12 overall.

The winner will have a tough road to advance further in the bracket as HOL Conference Champion #2 Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (6-0, 19-7) waits in the wings. The Rebels play #7 Staples-Motley (1-24), winners of only one game this season. The second round match with the Rebels will be on the road for either Pelican Rapids or Perham Friday, Oct. 28.

Wadena-Deer Creek (23-4) is the top seed and received a bye in the first round. They await the winner of #4 Hawley (17-8) and #5 Breckenridge (15-9).
