Rothmeyer and Jackets freestyle to second in the Mid-State

Rylie Rothmeyer was surprised at her time following the 200-yard freestyle event Friday at the Mid-State Conference Swimming and Diving meet in Detroit Lakes. Emily Creager, right, of Park Rapids finished second.

Detroit Lakes finished a distant third with 263 points, ahead of fourth-place Staples-Motley with 175.

"We have never had a girl set a conference record before," Ressler said.

Kratzke set the fifth school record in the 200 I.M., in a time of 2:25.44. Her time was second to Detroit Lakes Miranda Olson's 2:23.64.
