Boys Basketball: Jackets ranked number one in lastest poll

The Perham victory train kept rolling to a 25th consecutive victory, this time on the road at Breckenridge.

While each opponent comes in pumped up to face the undefeated, top-ranked AA Yellowjackets, and arguably, the best team in Minnesota, the Cowboys were out of it early, as Perham ran away with a 71-44 win in Breckenridge.

Jordan Bruhn reignited the scoring touch he had in the first two games of the season scoring a game-high 25 points. Bruhn doled out eight assists and had seven rebounds.

Mark Schumacher added 11 points and a quite typical five blocks.

Jordan Cresap scored 13 points nailing three long-range buckets in seven attempts.

The senior trio is becoming statistical commonalities when it comes to leading in points per game.

In all, nine Yellowjackets scored in the game.

The Cowboys tried to keep pace with double-digit scoring performances from Ryan Rettig-14 points, and a dozen from Nate Lorenz.

After battling a much bigger team in Pelican Rapids last week and hanging with the Vikings on the boards, the opposite occurred at Breckenridge. Perham outrebounded the Cowboys 33-21.

Perham was up by 17 at halftime and outscored Breckenridge 33-23 to pull away in the latter half.

The Jackets are on the road again tonight, Thursday, Dec. 22, at 3A Fergus Falls.
