The New York Mills Eagles girls basketball team (1-8) dropped their seventh consecutive game at home in a 74-33 loss to Barnesville (3-4) Wednesday evening.

Both teams traded baskets early in the game and the Eagles trailed by only six, 19-13 with 6:35 to go until halftime.

The Trojans applied a full-court press that forced five consecutive turnovers sparking a 17-3 run giving Barnesville a comfortable 20-point cushion at the break, 36-16.

The defensive stymie continued in the second half, as Barnesville allowed only 17 points running away to the 74-33 final.

Barnesville senior guard Kailee Martinson led all scorers with 25 points.

Eagle freshman center Ellie Rutten did all she could to keep the Eagles in the game scoring a team-high 20 points, 60 percent of the team's total.

Jasmine Meyer and Alissa Bentley had 12 and 10 points for Barnesville.
