The Perham girls basketball team (4-10) dropped a pair of games over the weekend, a 64-49 defeat at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Friday night and a Saturday afternoon loss to Bismarck (N.D.), 61-58.

Perham fell behind by 17 in the first half at D-G-F and went into the break down 37-23.

"We dug ourselves too big of a hole tonight," Head Coach John Gullingsrud said. "Our intensity and energy level wasn't where it needed to be in the first half."

Perham made a run in the second half getting within striking distance down only seven points, but the Rebels held Perham off never allowing the margin to get any closer.

Outside shooting doomed the Yellowjackets. Five different Perham players combined to shoot 0-16 from behind the arc.

Instead, the Rebels finished strong extending the lead to 15 points in the 64-49 final.

Katrina Moenkedick was the only Jacket in double figures scoring 13 points. She had a double-double on the night with 12 rebounds.

Suzanne Coleman scored nine and Allison Smith had eight points.

Kelly Bergee and Mandy Mercil each scored 13 to pace the Rebels. Kinzie Molstre added 11 points.

Saturday's match-up with Bismarck was eerily similar with Perham finding themselves down 16 points in the first half.

Another slow start led to an increased second half output.

"We played much better in the second half," Gullingsrud said.

The Yellowjackets mounted a late comeback getting into a one-possession game late down only two points.

"We couldn't make the big shot or get the big stop to tie it up."

Bismarck held on for a three-point victory despite being outscored by Perham 35-24 in the second half.

"Hopefully, we have learned after our last two games that we need to come out and compete better in the first half."

Moenkedick scored 20 points to lead Perham. Bismarck's Naomi Rust led all scorers with 24 points.

Becky Stoll had 15 points for Perham and Lexy Karvonen missed a double-double by one rebound scoring 10 points to go with nine boards.

Perham has lost seven of their past nine games.
