Softball: Eagles advance to 6A championship game

The Eagles softball team defeated Brandon-Evansville 13-4 in the the Section quarterfinals and Parkers Prairie 7-4 in the Section semifinals to set up a Sebeka/NY Mills doubleheader Thursday, May 31.

If fortune favors the Eagle softball team, it could make the day a tripleheader.

The baseball team kicks play off at noon. The softball team will face the Trojans in an elimination game at 4 p.m.

Sebeka defeated Parkers Prairie to advance to the 6A final with no losses. The Eagles will have to win twice to advance. If the Trojans win the first or second game they will end NY Mills' season and advance to the state tournament.

Sebeka sent NY Mills to the loser's bracket with a 5-4 victory last week before the holiday.

The two teams have met three times with all games ending with a one or two-run deficit. Sebeka swept a doubleheader during the regular season by mirror scores of 6-4 in both games.
