DENT -- The Countryside and Hi-10 leagues met in Dent Friday night to do battle in the All-Star Game.

Countryside defeated the Hi-10 League 10-0 in eight innings in a game that was never close.

The top of the order did most of the damage early for Countryside.

Leadoff hitter, Bryan Jacklitch, of the Fergus Falls Canes, reached on an error and scored with teammate Dan Revering on a double by Vergas Loon Jake Bachmann for an early 2-0 lead.

Bachmann scored from second base on a two-out double by Pelican Rapids Laker Brian Guler to up the lead to 3-0 after the first half-inning of play.

After a quiet second inning, Bachman got the scoring started again with a single and steal of second base.

He scored on a one-out single by Marcus Zitzow.

Guler made the score 5-0 scoring on a two-out single by Frazee's Sam Oelfke.

Dakota Aeling, of the Bertha Braves, reached third base after a single and a balk in the bottom of the third to get the Hi-10 league 90 feet from a run, but was stranded there when Detroit Lakes' Connor McLeod and New York Mills' Jeff Hamann both went down looking.

Jacklitch tore up the base paths leading off the fourth for Countryside.

He singled, stole second and third base and scored on a past ball.

Guler picked up his second and third RBI with a base hit that scored Revering and Zitzow for an 8-0 lead.

Countryside added two more runs to enact the mercy rule after eight innings of play.

Alex Johnson, of the Pelican Rapids Lakers, won the home run derby held before the game.
