The Perham Lady Jackets 14U softball team compiled a record of five victories and two losses to finish third in the state tournament last weekend.

Perham defeated St. Paul, Anoka, Monticello, Brownton, split with the Minnesota Dynamite and lost to Highway 10 rivals Detroit Lakes.

According to head coach Joseph Doll, Allie Doll and Alex Lubitz combined for 46 innings pitched and were backed up by great defense and timely hitting.

"This is a great group of girls that showed great perseverance and strong character after dropping the second game," said Doll.

"They came back and won four straight, including a dominant 9-0 win over the team they lost to in the second round."

The victory over the Dynamite assured Perham of a third place finish.

Perham finished the season with a record of 22-4.
