Volleyball: Perham drops match to Hawley in conference finale

HAWLEY - Tina Scheidecker had a team-high 10 kills but the Hawley Nuggets defeated Perham 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 26-24) in the final regular season volleyball match.

"After playing so well versus D-G-F last Thursday, I was afraid of the girls coming out flat on the road at Hawley - and that is exactly what happened," Head Coach Dan Christenson said.

According to Christenson, too many unforced errors and defensive out of positioning gave Hawley the points they needed to win the final conference match of the season.

Perham finishes six HOL contests at 2-4. Hawley finished with a 4-2 mark. D-G-F won the HOL title with a perfect mark of 6-0.

The Jackets will likely play Pelican Rapids in a first round playoff match next Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.

The Quality Results Formula (QRF) will control playoff seeding.

Currently, Perham's QRF ranking is 66th - 68.1.

Pelican Rapids is ranked 69th - 65.0 with the final calculations to be released in the near future.
