Swimming: Yellowjackets win first dual of the season

MORRIS -- The Perham Boys Swimming and Diving team gained a 95-45 dual victory over Morris/Minnewaska Area.

Thursday's dual was the first of the young season for the Yellowjackets.

Five swimmers set personal best times in the victory.

Andrew Cullen set his in the 50-freestyle in 29.28.

Billy Beseman also set personal marks in the 50-freestyle in 29.90 and the 100-backstroke in 1:21.92.

Todd Brown Jr. in the 100-butterfly in 1:12, which was also a section qualifying time and a personal best in the 200-freestyle in 2:22.97.

Paul Swanson swam the 100-butterfly in 104.44 and 100-backstroke in 1.05.90.

Leighton Covington's 100-breaststroke time of 1:22.47 was also a personal best.

Other section qualifying times were set by Zach Langendorfer in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:06.61, and Jayden Cullen set two section marks in the 100-freestyle in 53.47 and 100-backstroke in 1:07.29

"It was a very fast paced event," Perham Head Coach Trent Swanson said. "The Perham swim team can all be proud. They are off to a great start."
