Boys Basketball: Eagles fall to No.8-A Ulen-Hitterdal 62-48

NEW YORK MILLS -- The Eagles boys basketball team hung with the No. 8-A ranked Ulen-Hitterdal Spartans in a 62-48 loss Friday night.

The Spartans got 40 points from senior guards Neil Henrickson (22) and Landon Schultz (18). The duo combined for 10 field goals and five three-point baskets.

The halftime spread was only five points, 28-23, in favor of the Spartans.

With senior forward Jacob Brooks, Schultz and Henrickson combined for a three-man wrecking crew scoring 31 of the Spartans' 34 second half points.

Sophomore Zach Bauck and senior Charlie Peeters both scored 13 points for the Eagles.

Ulen-Hitterdal improved to 9-1, their only loss coming to No. 3-2A Hawley.

New York Mills is 2-7 and will face Verndale on Tuesday night at home at 7:30 p.m. in the second game of a three-game home stand.

Verndale and the Eagles are separated by a game in the Park Region Conference standings.

Verndale is 2-1 in the PRC, 5-3 overall. New York Mills is 1-2 in the conference.
