Wrestling: Perham dominates Pelican triangular

PELICAN RAPIDS -- The Perham wrestling team continued a streak of dual blowouts dominating a triangular at rival Pelican Rapids.

Perham defeated the hosts 54-16 and were even less kind to Breckenridge, taking out the Cowboys 62-8.

"Patrick Glynn looked very aggressive," Head Coach Robb Moser said.

Glynn defeated Alan Hanson of Breckenridge by fall at 3:25. He was 2-0 on the night after a 16-2 decision over Pelican's Hobey Diaz.

"William Parks continues to wrestle the style that we want all of our kids to wrestle like," Moser said.

Parks had two pins. He stuck Breckenridge's Derek Nordick at 5:03 and Pelican's Benn Barragan at 3:11.

"Jesse Klatt and Gio Garcia rebounded nicely from last weekend, as well."

Garcia pinned Pelican's Felix Barragan at 5:31 and was the benefactor of a forfeit in his Breckenridge match.

Perham got 30 free points from five Cowboy forfeits. The remainder of the match was still in Yellowjacket control as Perham outscored the Cowboys 32-8.

Perham was undefeated against both opponents at 132, 138, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195 and 220 pounds, including Glynn, Parks, Garcia and Klatt from 160-195.
