Boys Basketball: Yellowjackets thump Park Rapids 69-27

PERHAM -- The Perham Yellowjackets have been less than gracious hosts in back-to-back blowouts over Frazee Monday and Park Rapids Tuesday night by a score of 69-27 to improve to 9-4 overall.

Perham continues to employ a varied collection of leading scorers. After Jordan Hein's 17-point effort over the Hornets, Hunter Salathe led Perham with 21 points in the win over Park Rapids. Salathe added seven rebounds to his effort.

Josh Nordick scored 11 points; Nick Bahls had 10.

Park Rapids falls to 4-8 on the season.

Perham dominated the game in all categories outrebounding Park Rapids 31-17; outshooting the Panthers, as well. Perham was 20-30 from the field. Park Rapids shot 10-31.

Perham got the free throw line 20 times sinking 17 (85 percent). Park Rapids shot 50 percent in only eight trips to the stripe.

The Jackets travel to Glyndon to face D-G-F (5-4) on Thursday in Heart O' Lakes action before a tough two game stretch continuing on the road next Tuesday against an athletic Battle Lake squad (10-2) before returning home for a Friday night showdown Jan. 25 with No. 1-A Pelican Rapids.

The top-ranked Vikings are the only remaining undefeated team in the HOL at 3-0. Perham is 4-1, Hawley 2-1.
